Why I Stopped Watching TV

Weekly Wisdom for Online Entrepreneurs Episode #9

In this video I explain why I threw out my television about 3 years ago.   You’ll be happy to know that I became more positive and productive almost instantly by replacing the time I used to spend watching TV with other enjoyable productive activities like reading non-fiction books, cycling and exercising and spending more time learning WordPress and Online Marketing.

I just started cutting back on my tv consumption and my mind is sharper and clearer…more room for new ideas. Thanks for this video!

Susan,
You summed it up exactly. Cutting out TV does MORE than just FREE up more time. It FREES up your mind, heart, and soul. It’s amazing what Drastically cutting down on TV can do for your creativity! Thanks for sharing and great seeing you at the last WordCamp Miami 2016! Hope all is well with you.

I haven’t watched TV on a regular basis in about 5 years. I do occasionally view it if someone else is watching. I started cutting back and I really don’t know what’s happening on TV. I really don’t miss it. I found your video and comments regarding TV enlightening.

Marylin,
Glad you found my video and information enlightening. Nothing wrong with TV once in a while. The problem is that if there’s a TV in one’s home, it’s REALLY difficult to just keep TV watching to a minimum! So glad I through out my TV about 3 years ago!!! Thanks for commenting!

Excellent advice Jim!

And without a doubt, over the years, I have been applying this exact same process, to aimlessly surfing the various social media platforms as well!

And I too, have definitely noticed, I feel so much sharper an more focused as well!

Great advice and thanks so much for sharing it!

Mark,
As you know, a certain degree of Social Media time is essential for online marketers to network and see how FB and Twitter and LinkedIn, etc are changing. But it is a delicate balance between ‘spending’ time on Social Media sites and ‘wasting’ time on Social Media sites.
